This project born from the allure and the important of one of the most relevant value of Photography itself, that is the ability of documenting the reality of a time, and from the innate human attraction for nomad life. the life that I told trough a poetic portraits, are those of mans that silency are taking the melancholy journey of extinction in our country. The nomadic shepherds, that testify their existence since the time of the genesis, are infact increasly hampered from the system that is halving the presence of the real sheep rearing. this reality rappresent now only a little facet of the third millenium livestock farming, is a world that have his own roules, that cover every year thousands of miles on foot, under the mother nature seasons. Is reductive define the activity of a shepherd a job, they call it ” the disease” which leads them to accept a hard life of sacrifices, lonleynees and fatigue, lived in lived in symbiosis with nature and animals.
